A volume which tells us the story of modern kitchen, an out-and-out journey that recalls centuries of history, customs and traditions signed by Claudio Paolini and by the historian and art critic Ludovica Sebregondi. From the fireplace without hood, to the raised chimneys of the Middle Ages and Renaissance –the period when the difference between fire to heat and fire to kitchen was set off- to the invention of a Florentine friar, who found a way to carry the heat by saving fuel, and finally the birth of the modern kitchen in the second half of the XIXth century.
